Lawrence Public Schools have canceled school for Thursday, essentially meaning that spring break has begun. School was already canceled Friday, and Spring Break is set for Monday, March 14 through Friday, March 18.

“At the request of the leadership of the Lawrence Education Association, the Superintendent has agreed to give elementary staff the option of conducting scheduled conferences remotely tomorrow,” district spokesperson Julie Boyle said in an email to school families. “Staff may choose to conduct conferences by phone or Webex, or they may work with families to reschedule them.”

KU announced Wednesday afternoon that the Lawrence, Edwards and Leavenworth campuses will close Thursday for the anticipated bad weather. All classes, in person and online, are canceled, according to a campus alert.
