KU fans packed into Allen Fieldhouse Friday night for the 40th annual Late Night in the Phog, the celebration of the start of the basketball teams’ seasons.
Up until a few weeks ago, Lynette Woodard from KU had scored more points in college basketball than any woman ever. But she was never recognized by the NCAA as a scoring champion.
Kansas Athletics hired four law firms and spent $10 million to handle an NCAA investigation that dragged on for six years. In one month alone, more than 15 lawyers at four firms around the country worked on the case.
It’s all about perspective, Curtis Marsh says. His new book, “KU-phoria,” compiles stories about KU’s history and traditions — but he says the stories would be nothing without the way people felt and experienced them.

The University of Kansas men’s basketball team has been ordered to vacate 15 victories and its NCAA FInal Four appearance from its record for the 2017-2018 season as the result of a six-year investigation of recruiting infractions. The team also was put on probation for three years, a disciplinary panel ruled Wednesday.
