‘We’re not seeing him held back’: Shelter director envisions a bright future for Nash the dog

It’s been more than six weeks since a Lawrence resident found a dog — now named Nash — bleeding from wounds all over his body. Nash is healing well, and he’s ready to transition to foster care.

It was another successful Clear the Shelter Day for the Lawrence Humane Society Saturday as 99 cats and 64 dogs went to their new furever homes. And adoption fees will be half off Sunday for the animals who are still there.

All animal adoption fees will be waived Saturday at the Lawrence Humane Society, and staff members are hoping to send at least 75 dogs and 100 cats home with loving furever families.
