Due to winter conditions Wednesday, Douglas County and the Kansas Land Trust have postponed the first public informational meeting about a new land protection pilot program.
Tuesday is the final day Sunrise Project’s free porch pantry will be open. The nonprofit announced last month that it would end its meal deliveries and close its porch pantry after 2024, hoping to boost social connection.
Douglas County, in partnership with local agencies, will present two screenings of a documentary about pilot programs that give people an extra $500 to $1,000 per month as guaranteed basic income.
