Lawrence city commission candidates during a forum Monday evening spoke on renewable energy and efforts to collaborate with the Lawrence school district and Douglas County.
“Kansas already has highly restricted abortion care with no government funding, and that will continue if we vote ‘no,’” write Carol Williamson and Lori Hutfles, co-presidents of the League of Women Voters of Lawrence-Douglas County.
Two state legislators from Lawrence on Thursday shared some concerns they have looking ahead to the Aug. 2 election, when Kansans will decide whether to remove the protection of abortion from the state’s constitution.
