A newly commissioned musical is set to make its world premiere at the Lied Center this month, sharing stories of former enslaved Black Americans who were far more than their circumstances.

The Lied Center has announced its season lineup for 2022-23, and one feature will be the premiere of a musical theatre work that the center has commissioned.
Tickets are free for the University of Kansas School of Music’s 97th annual Holiday Vespers and Jazz Vespers, and there is an option to livestream the performances this year.
