The ownership structure of Lawrence’s Raven Book Store — fresh off an August move to its new Massachusetts Street home — expanded Monday, owner Danny Caine announced.
“We are pleased to present the Raven’s bestsellers of 2021! I must say, it’s an incredible list.”
“Even with all this fall’s big hits, big new releases and even a few new classics, nobody had the numbers to unseat the mighty ‘Ladybird, Collected.’ That’s just fine with us,” the Raven Book Store writes of this week’s bestsellers.
“This one was no contest — Nikole Hannah-Jones’ monumental ‘The 1619 Project’ sold twice as many books as any other on the list.”

Ngaio, the 13-year-old resident bookstore cat at the Raven, greeted and accompanied customers for 10 years. She has now retired to a quieter life at a bookseller’s home.
“We’ve never seen anything quite like how many people want to read ‘Dune’ right now.”
Nearly everything on this week’s bestseller list is Kansas-related!
