Tornado watch issued for Douglas County; storms possible
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Douglas County and much of northeastern Kansas and northwestern Missouri.
Heat advisory in effect Monday and Tuesday in Lawrence; watch for signs of heat-related illness
A heat advisory will be in effect noon Monday through 8 p.m. Tuesday in Lawrence and Douglas County because of dangerously high heat indices and little overnight relief in the forecast.

Lawrence could see severe storms Monday
Douglas County is at an enhanced risk for severe storms Monday, possibly including large hail and damaging winds. There is also a small chance of tornadoes and flooding.
Tornado north of Douglas County was EF1; more stormy weather possible
A tornado that touched down Tuesday night just north of Douglas County was an EF1, according to the National Weather Service in Topeka, and there were no injuries.

A tornado warning was issued for Douglas County as a storm passed through the area Tuesday evening.
Severe storms possible in Douglas County
Severe storms are expected to develop Tuesday afternoon, and severe weather is possible for Douglas County Tuesday and over the next few days.
Tornado watch issued for Douglas County; flood watch in effect Saturday
The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a tornado watch for Douglas County, effective through 9 p.m. Friday. Storms are also possible with up to tennis ball-size hail.
