Lawrence police release name of woman struck by vehicle, killed Friday night

Lawrence police on Monday released the name of the woman hit by a vehicle Friday night at 19th Street and Naismith Drive.

Emily Lepley, 60, died from injuries she suffered after reportedly being struck by a vehicle.

The call came in to dispatch around 8:40 p.m. Friday, the Times reported. First responders at the scene found Lepley, who had been attempting to cross the street at the intersection, unresponsive.

They started performing CPR, first responders said over the scanner, but about 10 minutes later, she had died.

The incident is still under investigation, LPD said Monday.
