Lawrence Transit riders: Construction is starting on bus stops all over town; here’s what you need to know

The city of Lawrence is about to start construction on bus stops all over town. Many stops will be getting shelters and benches, but the work might complicate things for riders in the short term.

Four or five stops will be completed each week of July until the work is done, according to the Lawrence Transit website.

The dates below may change because of weather or other circumstances, but here’s the tentative schedule from the website:

Phase 1: July 6 – July 10

4th and Maine Northbound (Route 3, Stop 150)– Drivers can pickup and drop after construction before turn onto Missouri
12th and Haskell Northbound (Route 1, Stop 368) – Drivers can pickup and drop before the construction
6th and Wisconsin Eastbound (Route 6, Stop 180) – Drivers can pickup and drop before construction at Dollar General
19th and Massachusetts Southbound (Route 7, Stop 365) – Drivers can pickup and drop after construction

Phase 2: July 12 – July 17

27th and Iowa (Eastbound)
27th and Redbud (Eastbound)
25th and Louisiana
31st and Nieder

Phase 3: July 19 – 24

21st and Stewart
Wakarusa and Harvard
Clinton Parkway and Crossgate
Clinton Parkway and Hartford
Clinton Parkway and Kasold

Phase 4: July 26 – July 31

27th and Iowa
27th and Redbud
31st and Harrison
27th and Holcom
