Lawrence and Douglas County could see severe weather this weekend, including hail and damaging winds, according to Douglas County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service in Topeka.
Friday night, rain is likely to start mostly south of Douglas County. Saturday is likely to be rainy, according to DCEM, but severe storms are more likely to move in later in the evening, around 8-10 p.m. Hail is possible Saturday night.
A cold front will move through eastern Kansas Sunday afternoon, according to the NWS. Sunday will likely see some morning showers and thunderstorms, and severe storms and damaging winds are possible in the afternoon.
Temperatures are expected to drop to about 50° overnight Friday into Saturday, reach a high of 68° during the day Saturday, and hit up to 76° Sunday before possibly dropping to a low of 47° Sunday night.
