Two A-10 Warthogs from the 303rd Fighter Squadron out of Whiteman Air Force Base will fly over David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium before KU takes on K-State. University of Kansas alumni will pilot the aircraft.

A practice flight is planned for approximately 1:30 p.m. Friday (Nov. 5), and they’ll fly overhead again Saturday at the conclusion of the national anthem, about 10 minutes before the 11 a.m. kickoff. (KU previously announced a 2:30 p.m. practice flight, but tweeted just before 1 p.m. Friday that the flyover would actually be closer to 1:30 p.m.)

KU has other events to honor veterans planned throughout the next several days, including a wreath-laying ceremony at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11 at the Campanile, and an open house for the Kansas Veterans Virtual Memory Wall from noon to 4 p.m. the same day at the Dole Institute of Politics.
