Connie Jo Myers, 62, was westbound in a Toyota Avalon around 9:40 p.m. Saturday near milemarker 191.2, which is a few miles east of the Douglas-Shawnee County line. Richard Lynn Fagan, 54, of Kansas City, Missouri, was driving westbound in a semitruck.

Myers “made an evasive maneuver to the left” and struck the semitruck in the rear, according to the KHP report.

Myers was taken to Stormont Vail hospital in Topeka with suspected serious injuries. Fagan had no apparent injuries, according to the report.

Both were wearing their seat belts, the report says.
