Families and friends of Lawrence neighborhood schools gathered for a rally Saturday at South Park to “Celebrate Our Schools.”

Many in attendance made valentines for the school board members ahead of their upcoming meeting on Monday, Feb. 14. At that meeting and another special meeting on Feb. 21, school board members plan to discuss options to help fill a multimillion-dollar budget shortfall.

The Save Our Schools 497 group organized the celebration. Another rally is planned at 5 p.m. Monday ahead of the 6 p.m. school board meeting at district offices, 110 McDonald Drive.
