The Kansas Jayhawks are national champions once again, and pure joy has filled the air in Lawrence.
After a rocky first half that sent the Jayhawks to the locker room trailing 40-25 and left fans on edge, Bill Self’s team came back to send the Tar Heels home in tears. The final score was 72-69.
This is KU’s first championship since 2008, and the team’s second under coach Self.
Fireworks could be heard all over Lawrence.
