Full of frights and fun for all ages, the annual Zombie Walk will return next Thursday to downtown Lawrence.

During the Zombie Walk, which is hosted every October, people walk down Massachusetts Street in their scariest and undead-est costumes ahead of Halloween.

There will be food available from vendors, professional photos being taken, costume contests with prizes, and makeup and blood bath stations, according to The Granada’s event page

Participants are encouraged to dress up in their best zombie- or horror-themed ensembles. For inspiration, check out photos from last year and these DIY costume tips from Lawrence locals.

The 15th annual Zombie Walk is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20. Participants will meet at South Park and begin walking at sundown, according to the event page. They will travel from South Park to Seventh Street along the east side of Massachusetts Street, then return on the west side.

All donations and proceeds from the event will go toward supporting the Lawrence Humane Society.

The Zombie Walk, presented by The Granada and 1313 Mockingbird Lane, is free to attend. Those interested in being a makeup artist, sponsor or vendor, or who would like to help otherwise, can email media@thegranada.com.
