Police responded to reports of gunshots in the area of 27th and Louisiana streets around 7:45 p.m. Monday, according to LPD.

“While officers were on scene investigating, we received reports of homes that had been struck by the gunfire, including one home where a child’s bed had been struck by one of the bullets,” according to a Facebook post from LPD Tuesday.

“Thankfully, no one was in that residence at the time of the shooting. Our CSI techs responded to the scene and were able to collect evidence associated with the case.”

Investigators are working to develop more leads in the case, according to LPD. Police ask anyone who was in the area and may have information to call dispatch at 785-832-7509.
