The city-run North Lawrence campsite for people experiencing homelessness will remain open until the city’s Pallet Shelter Village project is ready, which is supposed to happen sometime in June in a site to be determined.

After the WES closes, the Community Building — 115 W. 11th St. — will be closed for public use Monday, March 13 through Friday, March 24.

“During the closure, all flooring will be refinished and general maintenance will be performed throughout the building,” according to a news release from the city Thursday.

Parks and Recreation staff members will be available at their offices, 1141 Massachusetts St., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily to help assist people looking to register for programs or rent a facility during that closure, except for Friday, March 17. All other parks and recreation facilities will be open at their standard operating hours to provide assistance, according to the release.

The Community Building is slated to reopen to the public on Saturday, March 25. Its hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.
