Woman suffers possibly life-threatening injuries in Lawrence crash

A woman suffered injuries that were serious and possibly life-threatening Tuesday morning after a one-vehicle crash in Lawrence, according to police.

Lawrence police were dispatched to 24th Street and Kasold Drive at 8:24 a.m. Tuesday.

“A northbound vehicle struck the median, went northbound in the southbound lanes, and then overturned onto the sidewalk area,” Kim Murphree, acting public information officer for the Lawrence Police Department, said via email. “A female driver suffered serious and potentially life-threatening injuries.”

The woman was transported to a Kansas City-area hospital, Murphree said.

It was not immediately clear what had caused the crash.
