The driver of one vehicle involved in a three-vehicle crash was taken to the hospital Sunday morning, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred around 7:50 a.m. Sunday near Kansas Highway 10 and Clinton Parkway, according to a brief news release from the department.

The driver of one of the involved vehicles lost control on ice on the bridge, according to the release.

The driver who was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center had injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, according to the release.

Deputies believe there are likely icy conditions on bridges and encourage people to drive cautiously until the sun warms things up. Traffic was being rerouted near the K-10 and Clinton Parkway interchange as of around 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

“Deputies hope to reopen the bridge soon,” according to the release.
