Douglas County community members can learn about severe storms and how to best prepare for them during an upcoming presentation.
Staff members of Douglas County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service’s Topeka office will present on storm features, safety and preparedness, plus personal emergency planning.
The event is set for 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 18 in the auditorium of the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vermont St. It’s free to attend and open to the public.
There will also be opportunities to sign up for free weather alerts or to purchase a weather radio.

• The city has snow information and a map at lawrenceks.org/snow that shows information about road conditions and snow plow locations. The city typically begins snow and ice control for residential roadways when 2 or more inches of snowfall or icing occurs.
