Fans of Kansas football gathered to ring in the season, which will begin with the Jayhawks’ matchup against Lindenwood Thursday evening.
Optimism is high as the Jayhawks last year won a bowl game for the first time in 15 years and went 9-4 on the season. This will be the team’s fourth year under coach Lance Leipold.
Fans got to hear from senior running back Devin Neal, a Lawrence High School alum, senior cornerback Cobee Bryant and others on Saturday during the KU Football Kickoff Party in downtown Lawrence.
The first game of the season is against the Lindenwood Lions at 7 p.m. Thursday at Children’s Mercy Park. It will stream on ESPN+. Read more about the game at this link.
The Jayhawks will then travel to Champaign, Illinois to face the Fighting Illini at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7. Then at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, the Jayhawks will face the UNLV Rebels at Children’s Mercy Park.
All home games this season will be played either at Children’s Mercy Park or at Arrowhead Stadium while KU’s stadium is undergoing a massive renovation.
