The Watkins Museum of History, founded in 1975, will soon celebrate its 50th anniversary, and its staff members want to hear from the community as they imagine the museum’s future.

A town hall event is set for 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 at the museum, 1047 Massachusetts St. Hosts request that people register at this link.

The event is free to attend, and refreshments will be available. There will also be a Zoom version of the event for folks to attend online; register at the same link.

“Join us as we engage in a conversation about how the Watkins Museum can continue to be a welcoming space for local history, educational programming, and independent research while evolving to meet the needs of the growing Douglas County community,” according to an email from the Watkins on Friday.

The museum also has an online survey available at this link.
