Lawrence
Patrick Wayne Davis was born on January 25, 1979 in Alton, Illinois to the union of Robert Dale Davis I and Martha Ann (West) Davis. Patrick grew up in a household full of siblings. He was the youngest of 6 children. Patrick attended grade school in Alton, Illinois, before his family relocated to Lawrence, Kansas in 1998. He completed his education with USD497 graduating from Lawrence High School in 2001, as a very proud Lion.
During his childhood, Patrick Wayne, as he was always called by his siblings, was a huge fan of WWE, WWF, The Three Stooges, all Ole School Music, smooth R&B, and then became on the biggest fans of the Kansas Jayhawks. Patrick was always the life of the party. He loved to sing and dance, and was always the first one to grab the microphone for karaoke. No one was ever a stranger to Patrick. His smile was the first thing anyone seen upon being welcomed into our family.
Patrick was all about family. Always the first one to love on his nieces and nephews. Those were “his babies”, and everyone understood that. His love for a good evening of singing and dancing with his nieces and nephews was what he enjoyed doing the most, however, his love for potato salad and spaghetti, was unmatched by anyone in the family. Working was not something new to Patrick. After completing 17 wonderful years with Cottonwood, Inc, he retired with a perfect attendance record.
Patrick had a special calling on his life from birth. He was known as definitely one of God’s Favorite. Patrick was a lifetime member at Brown Faith Temple in Alton, Illinois under the supervision of the late Pastor Cornelius Brown, before moving his membership to Praise Temple Church of God in Christ in Lawrence, Kansas under the supervision of the late Pastor Paul Winn, Jr, before the current transition to Pastor Alonzo Cunningham.
Patrick departed this earthly life in exchange for his Heavenly home on Wednesday December 25, 2024 surrounded by his close family. Preceding him in death was his Dad Robert Dale Davis I, his brothers Willie David West and Robert Dale Davis II, his brother in law Don Baise, and other loving family members. Left to cherish Patrick’s memory is his mother Martha Davis, brother Paul Franklin-Bey (Charmaene), sisters Catina Franklin and Yolanda Franklin, all from Lawrence, Kansas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
