Lawrence brewery to host free event celebrating local trail system

Trails That Connect Us will now be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 24, because of the weather.

The event will still be held at Free State Brewing Company’s Eastside Brewery location, 1927 Moodie Road.

A free event this week will showcase local trails and outdoor recreation options alongside food, live music and beer.

Free State Brewing Company has partnered with Kansas Trails Inc. and Friends of Lawrence Area Trails to host the event, called Trails That Connect Us, from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 23 at its Eastside Brewery location, 1927 Moodie Road.

The brewery encourages guests to arrive by foot or bicycle using the Burroughs Creek Trail.  There will be complimentary valet bike parking available. 

The event is intended for all ages. Dogs are also welcome, on leashes, in outdoor areas.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved to Friday, April 24.
