A Celebration of Life for Dr. Quentin Lamerle Rials, 49, of Lawrence, KS, is set for 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Grace Presbyterian Church, 3312 Calvin Drive, Lawrence, KS, 66049 with a Visitation Friday, May 29, 2026, from 6:00 ~ 8:00 PM also at the church. Quentin took his seat in Heaven on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS following a critical illness.
He was born on October 9, 1976, in Lawrence, KS, the son of Louise Rials.
Dr. Rials is described as a steward of leadership and encouragement, one who listened and was supportive of others’ achievements and endeavors.
Rooted in the bond of friends and family, Quentin was a quiet strength-sincere, wise and considerate. He endured challenges with integrity, and seldom complained, learning from his Grandma to “cast his cares” on Jesus Christ.
Quentin achieved academically and professionally, earning a Bachelor of Science. in Elementary Education from Baker University, a Master of Science in Educational Administration from the University of Kansas, and a Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law.
He began his career as an attorney, and later served as an educator in the Fort Worth, Texas school district. He began his career with the Lawrence Public School District in 2017 as a Learning Coach at West Middle School and was named assistant principal at Lawrence High School in November 2018. During the 2022-23 school year, he worked as the interim lead principal of West Middle School, and in 2023, Dr. Rials became the lead principal of Lawrence High School.
A proud alum of Lawrence High School, Class of 1995, and helped lead the Lions to the Class 6A state basketball championship during his senior year.
Dr. Rials was a true Chesty Lion. He was a Principal who represented LHS with pride, heart and unwavering commitment to students, staff and families.
Above all, he was most proud of being a father to Sasha and Emmie. He loved and adored them, and they loved and adored him back.
Quentin is survived by his daughters, Sasha Nicole Rials and Emmie Rose Rials; Sister, Robin Rials; Nieces & Nephews, Amyiah, Justice, and Xiomara Rials; Grandma, Mary Rials; Uncles, AB Rials, Jr., Linnell Rials, and Clark Rials, Sr., Aunts, Johnnie Mae Rials, Loretta Rials, Lea Bruce, Julitha Rials, Rita Rials, and Nicole Rials; an abundance of Cousins, other family members, and a host of best friends from childhood and all walks of life.
Quentin was preceded in death by his mother, Lousie Rials, Grandpa, AB Rials, Sr., Uncles Micheal Wayne Rials, and Jeremiah Rials; Aunt, Leslie Rials, and a dear friend who was close like a brother, Kelly Meacham.
Memorial contributions in Quentin’s name may be made to the LRM Foundation Cornerstone Scholars Grant Fund.
