Ramp closures on Kansas Highway 10 on the west side of Lawrence are set to change on Wednesday, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
The ramp from Sixth Street (U.S. Highway 40) onto westbound K-10 is set to close until November starting Wednesday, June 24. “Drivers can follow the marked detour on 6th Street, Wakarusa Drive and Bob Billings Parkway or find an appropriate alternative route,” according to a KDOT news release.
The ramp from Sixth Street onto eastbound K-10 as well as the eastbound K-10 exit ramp to Bob Billings Parkway will reopen after being closed since February.
In addition, traffic between the interchanges at Sixth Street and at Bob Billings Parkway will be shifted to one lane in each direction on the newly finished eastbound lanes, according to the release.
The work underway is to expand that section of the South Lawrence Trafficway to four lanes.
