KC person dead after stabbing in downtown Lawrence; suspect at large

A 20-year-old man from Kansas City is dead after an overnight stabbing near Seventh and Massachusetts streets in downtown Lawrence, according to police.

“Officers were dispatched to a disturbance about 2:40am and found the victim lying on the sidewalk,” police wrote in a social media post Sunday morning. “He was transported to an area hospital, but did not survive.”

Police said the suspect is still at large. They’re asking businesses that have cameras in the area and any other witnesses to call dispatch at 785-843-0250.
