The Kansas Craft Brewers Exposition returned to Lawrence on Saturday. Celebrating the 11th annual expo, hundreds of beer connoisseurs, brewers from across the state, and local food vendors flocked to Abe & Jake’s Landing for two sold-out sessions.

The event is designed to celebrate homegrown advancements in the field of beer brewing. The taps never stopped flowing, and attendees came prepared. The lofted venue was full of people wearing colorful outfits and snack necklaces — many were pretzels or meat sticks strung around a rope — during the dedicated half-day of drinking.

Lawrence-based breweries included 23rd Street Brewery, Black Stag, Fields & Ivy, Free State, and Lawrence Beer Company. They shared the expo hall with other craft breweries from around the state, such as Blind Tiger (Topeka) and River City (Wichita). Food vendors included local fan-favorites such as Latchkey Deli and Minsky’s Pizza. The event also offered music, T-shirts and glassware, and informational and educational displays.

Beer is known as something that brings people together, and that was exactly the spirit embodied by the 11th annual Kansas Craft Brewers Expo.
