After taking 2020 off amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lawrence City Band returned for a concert Wednesday night at the South Park gazebo.
As the Times reported last week, the band, conducted by Paul Popiel, will play at 8 p.m. each Wednesday throughout the summer. The theme of this week’s show was “Celebrations!” The show also featured guest conductor Leroy Esau for a couple of numbers.
Here’s the lineup for the rest of the season:
June 2: Journeys
June 9: Showtime!
June 16: Dance the Summer Away
June 23: La Noche Caliente
June 30: Watercolors
July 7: American Tribute
July 14: Hollywood and Broadway Favorites
In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be held at the Lied Center, 1600 Stewart Ave.
