Firefighters work to put out barn fire southeast of Lawrence

Firefighters were working Saturday night to put out a barn fire in the 1800 block of North 1100 Road, according to scanner traffic and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

No people or animals were in the barn and there were no reports of injuries as a result of the fire, the sheriff’s office said in a tweet Saturday night.

Deputies were still on the scene with the fire department as of 11 p.m. Saturday, according to the sheriff’s office, and firefighters were still working to put out the fire.

The cause of the fire was not yet known.
