Pinkney, Sunset Hill sidewalks are next up for repairs as part of Lawrence’s ADA transition plan

Lawrence completed $1.9 million in repairs last year as part of plans to make sidewalks more accessible. Now, the city is turning to the Pinkney and Sunset Hill neighborhoods to evaluate hazards and necessary repairs.

Lawrence city commissioners on Tuesday approved a plan to bring city sidewalks and curb ramps up to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The plan is estimated to cost the city and residents about $103.5 million over the next 20 years.
