After just more than two years with the department, Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical Chief Rich Llewellyn is stepping down from his position, according to a news release from the city on Monday.
Tom Fagan, who served as interim chief of Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical starting in December 2021, has been selected as chief of the Marion, Iowa Fire Department, the city announced Friday.
The city has announced that Richard Llewellyn, an outside hire from the Everett Fire Department in Washington, will be the new chief of Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical.
Tom Fagan, new interim chief of Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical, said he’s honored and excited to “serve our great community and responders in this new manner while the executive search is underway.”
A free mobile app will allow everyday citizens to help Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical save people’s lives.
Shaun Coffey, chief of Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical, announced Friday that he plans to retire at the end of this year.
