Times Twitter poll: Almost half say Douglas County should keep the mask mandate; almost half say nix it

The results of the Times’ latest non-scientific Twitter poll show that nearly half of respondents don’t think that Douglas County should end its mask mandate just yet.

However, the other almost-half of respondents are either OK with removing the mandate, or they’re ready to see it go.

The Douglas County Commission will hear from public health officials Wednesday afternoon with a request to remove the mandate and health order, instead favoring strong recommendations to continue following COVID-19 safety protocols.

The Times’ poll got 198 votes. Again, this is not a scientific poll — it’s just for fun.

The county commission will discuss removing the health order at its meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Read more and find links to watch the meeting here.
