A caller told dispatch their boyfriend had been stabbed near a home in Jay Hawk Mobile Homes, and that a woman and three men had left the scene in a white sedan, according to scanner traffic.

Sgt. Drew Fennelly of the Lawrence Police Department said via email Friday night that he did not yet know the extent of the victim’s injuries.

A first responder at the scene had asked for the availability of a LifeStar helicopter. However, the injured person — a 40-year-old man, Fennelly said — was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center by ambulance around 11:15 p.m., scanner traffic indicated.

Police had not located any suspects in connection with the incident as of 11:40 p.m. Friday, Fennelly said, and he did not have any suspect information to share at that time.

“The investigation is ongoing, and I don’t know when, or if, we will have any additional information to provide tonight,” Fennelly said.
