Hamlin has accepted a similar job with the Kansas City, Kansas public schools, according to the release.

“I am so thankful for the years that I have been a part of the wonderful Lawrence Public Schools community,” Hamlin said in the release. “Working in HR provided an opportunity for me to have contact with, get to know, learn from, and support a large number of staff over the years. You all have become friends and family, and I will be forever grateful for that. I will truly miss this LPS family!”

Hamlin has worked for the district for 12 1/2 years, according to the release. Her resignation is pending school board approval.

“As it does with all vacancies, the school district has evaluated this position as part of its budget planning (process),” according to the release. “An assistant director position has been posted for hiring.”

Several Lawrence Public Schools administrators have resigned to take positions with the KCK school district in recent years, including the former deputy superintendent, executive director of HR, director of data and technology, and an elementary school principal.
