LPD Sgt. Drew Fennelly said via email Tuesday morning that investigators determined that the man, 46, was riding westbound on Locust Street just before 11 p.m. Monday.

Fennelly said the man violated the steady red light at North Second Street, narrowly missed two vehicles and then was struck by a southbound Ford Escape.

The driver, a 21-year-old woman, remained on scene and was cooperative, Fennelly said.

“I do not have an update on the man’s condition,” Fennelly said. “The report is not yet complete, so unfortunately I don’t have any information on citations or contributing factors, but I can confirm that the female driver did not show any signs of impairment.”

Police did not release either person’s name.
