The Kansas football team has topped No. 6-ranked Oklahoma and improved to 6-2 on the season.

Devin Neal, junior running back from Lawrence, scored the final touchdown of the game to give KU the lead, 38-33. Oklahoma could not come back.

Students rushed the field in celebration after the conclusion of the game. KU is also now bowl-eligible for the second year in a row.

KU had not beaten Oklahoma since 1997. The Jayhawks snapped an 18-game losing streak against their longtime Big 12 foes. OU is leaving the Big 12 to join the SEC (Southeastern Conference) after this year.

The Jayhawks on Saturday, Nov. 4 head to Ames, Iowa for a 6 p.m. kickoff against Iowa State (5-3). The game will air on ESPN.
