Here’s a quick roundup of trash pickup details, offices that will be closed and more for Presidents Day, Monday, Feb. 19.

Trash and recycling pickup will be delayed by a day, so regular Monday customers will have pickup on Tuesday, Tuesday customers on Wednesday, and so on.

There will be no yard waste collections or bulk item pickups during the holiday week, and there will be no roll-off services, cart/dumpster swaps, deliveries or maintenance on Monday or on Saturday, Feb. 24. Commercial solid waste collection routes will be collected on schedule, except that there will be no cardboard recycling services on Monday outside of the downtown district.

Parking downtown will be free at meters and in lots and garages on Monday.

Lawrence Transit’s fixed-route, paratransit and on demand services will operate on their regular schedules.

City of Lawrence offices will be closed Monday, as will Douglas County District Court and the Douglas County district attorney’s office.

City parks and recreation and cemetery offices will also be closed. Specific rec center hours and hours for the Indoor Aquatic Center are available at this link.

All aquatic fitness, lifelong recreation, unified recreation and other recreation classes will be held as scheduled Monday, according to a city news release. Youth sport league games and practices and adult sport league games will be held as scheduled.

The Lawrence Public Library will be open.
