Folks in Lawrence can join walking tours or digital tours of public art that celebrates the World Cup, from cut window graphics to sculptures to wearable public art for sale downtown.
The Unmistakable Public Art Exhibition, re-envisioned from the Outdoor Downtown Sculpture Exhibition, has taken place annually since 1988.
“This year’s exhibition celebrates the spirit of the World Cup through six unique artworks, each offering a different creative perspective on public art and the world’s favorite game,” according to a city news release.
An opening reception and walking tour will kick off at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 5 at Ninth and Massachusetts streets. The city will host a second walking tour at 5:30 p.m. on Final Friday, June 26, starting from the same location.

People who can’t attend the walking tour can view the art using the Otocast mobile app, available through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
