Local Food Cup adds to the fun at Lawrence Farmers Market

The Lawrence Farmers Market began its celebrations of 50 years running by hosting the Local Food Cup, an extended market day with additional activities related to the World Cup, on Saturday. 

Community members joined in on soccer-themed activities as Lawrence prepares to cheer on Team Algeria in their final group stage match Saturday night.

Visitors tested their soccer skills, shopped from local vendors, voted on their favorite produce and got a chance to dunk market staff members and local officials, including Mayor Brad Finkeldei, in a dunk tank.
