The Trans Liberation Front will soon host a social on Lawrence queer history with talks from folks involved in local historic queer organizations.

TLF is a local mutual aid organization formerly known as the Trans Protection Party. Their Lawrence Queer History Social is billed as a night of education, history and free cocktails.

It starts at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 11 at the Ecumenical Campus Ministries, 1204 Oread Ave. The event is open to the public and will feature free food and beverages. Folks can RSVP at this link.

Kathy Rose-Mockry will discuss her book, “Liberating Lawrence: Gay Activism in the 1970s at the University of Kansas,” published by the University Press of Kansas.

Lee Hubbell, former Lawrence Gay Liberation Front member, and Ruth Lichtwardt, former director of the Gay and Lesbian Services of Kansas, will also speak.
