Lawrence’s Spanish-speaking community is invited to an afternoon of games, school information and connections with local organizations during Fiesta de Hillcrest.
The event is set for 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at Hillcrest Elementary School, 1045 Hilltop Drive.
The free event will include lotería, a traditional Mexican game of chance similar to bingo, along with prizes, refreshments and a raffle.
Attendees can also meet Hillcrest’s principal, front office staff and English language learning teachers.
Community organizations including Somos Lawrence, Centro Hispano and Mi Apoyo Prenatal are expected to provide information. Lemonade, cookies and popcorn will be available.
