It’s homecoming weekend in Lawrence, and fans showed up in full force to cheer on the Kansas Jayhawks as they take on the Iowa State Cyclones.
Energized by a 4-0 win streak, the crowd was celebrating with games, barbecue, music, and more, all around the David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium and surrounding neighborhoods.
The stadium is offering new amenities this season, including a “concessions Happy Hour from 1-2 p.m., which includes discounts on select food and beverage items, including beer,” according to KU Athletics. “There will also be an additional 20 new points of sale throughout the stadium, including food trucks and additional concessions available in the south end zone near the video board, which will open 30 minutes after kickoff and will close at the end of the third quarter. There will also be several cash-only locations available.”
Kickoff was at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Although the game is sold out, fans can attend watch parties at various downtown bars and restaurants.
