David Booth, an alum of Lawrence High School and KU, has made a donation of $300 million to Kansas Athletics — which is “among the largest single gifts in the history of college athletics,” according to a KU news release.
KU announced in January that it would play some of its home football games at Arrowhead Stadium. Since that time, KU has been negotiating with the Chiefs and hadn’t reached an agreement three days before the game.
Travis Goff, director of athletics for the University of Kansas, has signed a seven-year contract extension that includes a base salary boost to $1.3 million each year.
Kansas Athletics has signed an amended contract with football coach Lance Leipold, who is now set to make more than $8 million through April 2025.
Kansas Athletics hired four law firms and spent $10 million to handle an NCAA investigation that dragged on for six years. In one month alone, more than 15 lawyers at four firms around the country worked on the case.

The University of Kansas men’s basketball team has been ordered to vacate 15 victories and its NCAA FInal Four appearance from its record for the 2017-2018 season as the result of a six-year investigation of recruiting infractions. The team also was put on probation for three years, a disciplinary panel ruled Wednesday.
