Motorcyclist killed in Lawrence crash was 36-year-old man, police say

The motorcyclist killed in a crash Monday in Lawrence was 36-year-old Donavan Edmonds, according to Lawrence police.

First responder radio reports indicated that around 7:35 a.m. Monday, a vehicle and a motorcycle had collided at McDonald Drive and Rockledge Road, and that the motorcyclist had been in serious condition. He did not survive.

Police have not released further details about the circumstances of the crash.

“(O)ur Accident Investigations Unit is still analyzing the evidence and witness statements – so the investigation is still in process,” Laura McCabe, a spokesperson for the city, said via email Tuesday.

Edmonds’ family has been notified, McCabe said.
