Military aircraft will fly over KU’s campus Thursday and Friday ahead of the Jayhawks’ first football game of the season.
KU will face Long Island University Friday, Sept. 4 to start the 2026 season.
“At noon Thursday, a team of two T-38 Talons will fly a practice run over David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium,” according to a news release from KU.
“On Friday evening, the aircraft will again fly over the stadium a few minutes prior to the 7 p.m. kickoff between the Jayhawks and the Sharks,” the release continued.
The flyovers will be conducted by the 509th Bomb Wing out of Whiteman Air Force Base near Warrensburg, Missouri, according to the release.
