Clinton Lake Marina is inviting the public to get out on the water in a new way. From 5:30 to 9 p.m. on the first Fridays of June, July, August and September, the marina hosts a Float Local Friday party.

Alongside people hanging out on boats or swimming in the lake, hundreds of people fill up the marina’s parking lot and new patio for live music, local breweries, food trucks, bouncy houses and games.

Travis Andregg, project manager at the marina, says they’re encouraging more people in the community to enjoy the space. It’s part of the business’s initiative to expand their reach outside of boaters and into the general public.

“There’s something here for everyone to joy. We debuted this event last summer, and it’s wildly fun and successful,” Andregg says.

The event is free to attend, except for a $5 vehicle fee to enter the Clinton State Park. The fee also includes access to 25 miles of hiking and biking trails, reservable camping sites, an archery range, 18-hole disc golf course, sand volleyball court and more.
